Current Shipping Situation
Shipping — where we can send things right now (and why)
Short version: some EU packaging law changed. It's expensive to comply with EVERY country, and it's slowing down where I can ship. Long version below, if you want it.
Nothing changed to shipping to the rest of the world, US, UK, Asia are unaffected.
What happened
The EU's Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) and the underlying Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) system require anyone shipping packaged goods into a country to register — and pay licensing fees — in that specific country. Not once for the whole EU. Once per country.
For a one-person studio sewing everything by hand, that means: before I can legally send a parcel to, say, Austria, I need to register and pay a recurring fee in Austria. Then again for France. Then again for wherever else. Each one is its own bureaucratic tollbooth.
Germany's done — I'm registered there (LUCID), so German shipping works exactly as before.
Everywhere else in the EU, the fees don't make sense to pay speculatively for a handful of orders. So for now, those countries are paused.
This is still moving
None of this is fixed in stone. The rules are new, enforcement details are still being worked out country by country, and there's real pushback happening right now — including a petition asking the EU for a moratorium on these cross-border EPR fees for small and micro businesses, on the grounds that a system meant to make big polluters pay is instead squeezing out independent makers who can't absorb 27 separate national registrations. If that's something you want to add your voice to, it's here. I'll keep this page updated if anything changes.
The waitlist idea
Rather than eating those costs upfront on a guess, I'd rather know first: if enough people in a given country actually want to order, the fee pays for itself and I register there.
So: waitlists, one per country. Once a country has enough people on it, I register, open shipping, and everyone on that list gets first word.
How to get on a list, right now
The waitlists aren't built into the shop yet. Until they are, two ways to raise your hand:
- DM me on Instagram — tell me your country and that you want in on a Chore Coat, Fatigue Pants, whatever.
- Message through the contact form on the homepage — same info: country + what you're after.
I'm keeping a running tally by country. When one crosses the threshold, I'll register for that country and reach out to everyone who signed up.
